Science in Action
In our science lab this term, Grade 8 learner Uminami Cele brought chemistry to life with a fascinating experiment on the electrolysis of copper chloride. By using an electric current to break down the compound, Uminami demonstrated how science can physically transform matter, successfully separating pure copper from the solution.
This experiment serves as a perfect example of the importance of practical learning. While textbooks provide the foundation, hands-on experiments bridge the gap between theory and reality. Seeing the chemical reaction unfold in real-time makes complex concepts tangible and sparks a deeper curiosity for the subject.
Uminami’s excellence in the lab reflects a broader commitment to academic success.
