In the Grade 7 Social Sciences classrooms, our learners embarked on a fascinating journey deep into the interior of our planet. They were tasked with investigating the complex, layered structure of the Earth, moving beyond textbooks and diagrams to bring the subject to life.
We are incredibly proud to spotlight the outstanding work of Lubanzi Buthelezi and Thabang Kunene. This dynamic duo took on the challenge of building a detailed, multi-layered model of the Earth. From the solid inner core to the thin, rocky crust, their model displayed meticulous attention to detail and clear scientific understanding.
However, the impressive visual was only the beginning. Lubanzi and Thabang also delivered a sophisticated and insightful presentation to their classmates. They confidently explained the composition, temperature, and dynamics of each layer.
This project was more than just an academic exercise. A major focus in Grade 7 is the development of essential life skills that will serve them long after they leave Gratton, and this investigation perfectly highlighted the importance of teamwork. Lubanzi and Thabang demonstrated exceptional collaboration, showcasing how two strong minds can achieve more together than they could individually.
